1st edition of the “Battle Startup in Healthcare” organized by the Paideia & Mater Dei Group alongside Ventive.

Innovation serving people’s health, prevention, early diagnosis, and well-being preservation wins. It’s no coincidence that the Paideia International Hospital and Mater Dei General Hospital chose the startup “MathBiology” as the winner of the first edition of the healthcare innovation battle, with Ventive‘s support. “We’ve chosen the innovation that resonates with us, one that utilizes technology, engineering, and a holistic approach to health for the benefit of people. MathBiology embodies all of this, and it’s important for us to support it with this award. It’s also a ‘young’ reality, in line with the Paideia Project, which aims to support young enterprises,” says Alberto De Angelis.
“The decision wasn’t easy as all presented projects were truly interesting and innovative. We’ll engage in dialogues with many of them. We chose to reward MathBiology for its strong innovative value. We strongly believe in innovation and technology serving health, both in terms of diagnosis and therapy, as well as prevention. Similarly, we believe in a healthcare model that continually seeks to offer the best to people,” adds Alberto De Angelis.
MathBiology is an innovative healthcare technology startup based on science. “Our idea involves a small device – like a decoder connected to a sensor – capable of mapping each organ in a single visit to understand their health status, whether there are issues, or if ongoing therapies are fully effective or need adjustment. This award is truly important to us as it’s not only a vote of confidence but also recognition of the validity of this project. It’s a step forward in bringing this tool to the market to serve people’s health,” says Alessandro Cascia, CFO & MathBiology partner, upon receiving the €10,000 prize from Alberto De Angelis.
The ‘Battle among Healthcare startups’ is a new idea, and this just-concluded one is the first edition promoted by Paideia & Mater Dei. It was a highly successful initiative with numerous startups participating, all with intriguing projects. “The most important value of an initiative like this, which saw the Paideia & Mater Dei group and Ventive working side by side, is bringing innovation to a sector like healthcare, still largely tied to traditional frameworks. Paideia was an important partner because it believes in innovation, adding value in analyzing the different proposals from startups,” adds Carolina Grassi, PR & Sales Manager at Ventive.
