COVID-19 monitoring
COVID-19 tests are carried out at special times using specially controlled procedures, as required by infection control measures. Bookings can be made directly online, via e-mail or by calling the special number +39 06 87 80 57 57, from Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 8 pm, and Sunday mornings.

The following tests are performed at Paideia International Hospital:

RAPID ANTIGEN TEST >
The rapid antigen test screens for SARS-CoV-2 antigens. It is recommended for anyone who needs immediate results before proceeding with any further controls and analysis.

MOLECULAR TEST >
The molecular swab is the “Gold Standard” for diagnosing SARS-CoV-2. It is performed using a nasopharyngeal swab and detects the presence of SARS-CoV-2 through molecular analysis.

SALIVA
TEST >
Saliva sampling can help to detect infection early and has a number of advantages: saliva is easy to collect, the method is non-invasive (ideal for children and workers subject to frequent testing), and there is lower risk of exposure for healthcare workers. You must not smoke or consume any food or drink other than water in the 30 minutes prior to the test.

IGG ANTI-SPIKE ANTIBODY TEST >
The IgG Anti-Spike Antibody Test is specifically for people who are vaccinated or have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2 who want to measure their immune response.
The (IgG Anti-Spike) test involves a simple blood test, which measures the antibodies acting directly against the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein, which is responsible for the infection entering the target cells.

IGG/IGM ANTIBODY TEST >
IgG and IgM antibody tests measure the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the blood. This provides information on the viral infection and the subsequent immune response.
More specifically, it tests for immunoglobulins (antibodies), which can be used to reconstruct the “history” of the virus, i.e. how long it has been present in the body.

CUTOFF INDEX VALUE (COI) QUALITATIVE ANTIGEN TEST >
The COI antigen test is a second-generation test that uses fluorescence technology for the qualitative detection of the SARS-COV-2 N (Nucleocapsid) protein in nasopharyngeal and nasal swab samples.
This qualitative test cannot determine the quantitative value of the viral load. The test results must be considered in addition to other clinical information available to the physician.
Therefore, in the presence of symptoms, a negative test result does not exclude the possibility of SARS-COV-2 infection and must be confirmed using a molecular test. However, results higher than 10 are definitely positive.
Post-COVID Check-up
Paideia has designed a targeted check-up with a series of medical and laboratory tests and an in-depth clinical health assessment of patients who have contracted SarsCov2 and display a clinical picture of pneumonia either with few symptoms or entirely asymptomatic. Screening is primarily aimed at checking for possible lung damage and may be supplemented by examination of the cardiovascular system.
