The Oncology Unit at Paideia International Hospital has obtained PERLA Certification and, among the certified departments, has also won the PERLA Award dedicated to person-centered care.
Paideia International Hospital is celebrating an important recognition in the field of person-centered care. Its Oncology Unit has obtained PERLA Certification, a recognition that highlights the quality of relationships, communication, and personalization in care. PERLA is in fact described as the first Italian certification dedicated to these aspects of healthcare and is based on a set of ten concrete principles, assessed through a validated questionnaire administered to patients receiving care in the services participating in the program. Centers that pass the evaluation receive the PERLA seal, valid for one year.
For Paideia International Hospital, this milestone represents recognition of a care model that combines clinical excellence with attentive listening, high-quality communication, and a strong focus on each person’s needs. This approach is especially meaningful in oncology, where care requires expertise, continuity, and a relationship capable of supporting the patient through every stage of the journey.

What makes this achievement even more significant is that it was also accompanied by the PERLA Award. This recognition is reserved for departments that have already obtained certification and may apply by submitting a video narrative about person-centered care within their organization. The award is granted by a jury composed of the Board and patient associations to the story that best expresses the principles of the PERLA charter. In this process, PERLA Certification represents the first recognition, while the PERLA Award highlights, among certified centers, those experiences that are able to convey their care model in the most effective and authentic way.
For the Oncology Unit at Paideia International Hospital, having first received PERLA Certification and then the PERLA Award further reinforces the value of a daily commitment based not only on the quality of care, but also on the centrality of the person, attentive listening, and the relationship with patients.
This double recognition confirms the vision of Paideia International Hospital: to promote a healthcare model in which clinical quality is essential, but is combined with care that is increasingly personalized, mindful, and close to people’s needs.
